Freedom From Smoking
ALADC offers Freedom From Smoking®, a behavior modification therapy program to quit smoking. This very successful program addressess the habit, addiction and tailors the therapy to the person. This is 8-session program is offered at community and corporate sites in the District.

D.C. Tobacco Free Families campaign is a program of ALADC and provides extensive cessation services and resources for smokers wanting to quit and healthcare providers.
Teenage Smoking Cessation Program: Not-On-Tobacco
Not-On-Tobacco is a state-of-the-art program specifically designed for teenagers who want to stop smoking. It was developed by the American Lung Association in collaboration with researchers at West Virginia University.
N-O-T does more than teach teens how to stop smoking successfully. It uses a life management skills approach so young people learn how to reduce stress, make decisions, and communicate more effectively with family and friends.

Become a Cessation Facilitator!
Learn how to facilitate the American Lung Association of DC’s smoking cessation clinic for both adults and teenagers. You will interact with people that most need your guidance and help the American Lung Association to carry out its mission of combating lung disease.
If you meet the following qualifications, you can help affect the lives of many DC residents who are trying to quit smoking:
desire to help people achieve a smokefree lifestyle
previous experience in leading a group
non-smoker for at least one year
